Professor, father, husband, and lover of life. In this blog, I share my thoughts on my central purpose in life: to teach others how to make better decisions, specifically in designing, building, maintaining, and using information systems. I review books, explain scientific research, discuss philosophy, talk about education, and share my own experiences on how to make the best decisions for living a happy successful life.

Information Systems and Technology
My particular profession is to teach others how to make, plan, design, evaluate, secure, and manage information systems. And I LOVE it. I have written a number of posts on how I use technology at home and at work and in Management information systems.
One of my passions has been discovering the underlying principles of information systems. Many of these principles can be discovered through the study of history. The books below have helped me develop my understanding of computer history and the role of ideas have played in transforming business information processing.
